Class 302

My friend Phil had an odd craving for shaved ice on a cold day in December! I was pretty hesitant about eating shaved ice at 9PM on a weekday, but I told myself YOLO. Yes, I said YOLO. Phil said YOLO. We all said YOLO.

We went to Class 302 for their well known shaved ice. I’ve been to Class 302 a few times but I’ve only tried their porridge which I suggest you never getting. I’ve also tried their oreo mocha iced drink. Something like that. It was definitely better than the porridge.

So we picked a simple shaved ice which had strawberries and mangos. It was pretty good.

The shaved ice was definitely huge! It’s probably good enough for 4 people. Somehow, we were able to kill it just the two of us. Don’t ask me how we were able to do that.

The shaved ice was a little better than expected. I understand why people rage about the shaved ice, but I’m pretty indifferent about it for the most part. I guess it’s because I’m not a huge shaved ice fan. I have to say that it was better than Guppy’s shaved ice. The condense milk at Class 302 was not as too strong or too sweet as Guppy.

Thanks Phil for craving shaved ice since I was able to try something new! Remember #yolo.

Photography Ain’t My Thing

Recently, my sister got a new digital camera. I wanted to use it and see how creative I could get from using it. But the thing is, I’m not an artsy type of a person at all. For me to be creative, it takes a lot of time and effort. When it comes to photography, the most creative I can get is with the help from Instagram. Yesterday, for once I was not going to depend my creativity on Instagram. I had my friend Andrea be my model for the day! I gave her a make-over yesterday, just hair and make-up.

After the make-over, we went to an open grass area by my house to take pictures. I had this vision to take pictures of her doing dance poses since we used to dance together. We took a bunch of dance poses, but the pictures were not what I expected. I was challenged by the sunlight and the lack of a pretty scenery. Here are a few photos that I thought looked dancey:

Once our dance pose session was completed, I wanted to try some head shots on her. Taking head shots was actually really fun. I basically improvised from the top of my head on how to take these head shots. I told her to sit this way and that way. Look here and there. This is how the photo shoot turned out.

If you think Andrea’s legs look unusual, don’t mind that. She’s just wearing tights! That was my first photo shoot ever. It was definitely fun working with Andrea since she was so cooperative. I definitely want to do more photo shoots for fun and try to improve on everything.

One last thing. I would like you to get to know my friend, Andrea! Here’s a little Q&A from her:

1. What’s your name? Andrea Ashcraft
2. How do you know Tina? Tina and I used to dance together at Irvine Dance Academy when we were younger and then became much closer when we both attended Irvine High School.
3. What do you spend most of your time doing? I spend about half of my time working (I have 2 jobs). The other half I would say is mainly spent at home doing everything from eating to Facebook to video/board games with my dad. I try my best to balance work and play — but it is a daily struggle.
4. What are 3 random facts about yourself? I love baking, no need for a special occasion. I am very OCD about my fingernails among other things. There is a 17 year gap between me and my next sibling.

 Alrighty, thanks for stopping by!

My First Post!

Hello, hello to all or to no one 🙂

I’m really excited to start this blog! I have so much to share about everything and anything from food to attractions to current events. I enjoy trying new things and simply sharing with others my experience and tips. I’m a low maintenance, low budget, non-picky eater type of a person. I hope my blog encourages you to try new things!

Since this is my first entry, I probably should share some things about myself. I don’t plan to share with you my whole life story in this first entry. That would just take forever. I thought it would be funny to take one of those Myspace questionnaires that I used to do back in the day. If you never had Myspace, well then, you missed out! Basically on Myspace, people would post up these questionnaires that they filled out and all their Myspace friends would read it and answer it themselves and re-post.

So I went back to my Myspace and found that all those posts were gone 😦 Luckily, there’s Google! So here goes the survey:

  1. Name: Tina Kyung Yun
  2. Birthdate: August 20
  3. Location: A city where leaves pick themselves up off the ground, the road is repaved every other day, and you see policemen everywhere. That is Irvine.
  4. Height: 5’6″. People say I’m tall for an Azn.
  5. Piercings? Yes! Just got them pierced for the first time in May!
  6. Tattoos: I have a tattoo that says: Made by God. It’s on the bottom of my right foot. Just kidding!
  7. Food: Korean food! I just need kogi and tofu soup. Then I’m good to go.
  8. Number: 2 and 20 because 2 is part of 20 and 20 is my birfday.
  9. Color: Red because the red Power Ranger was my favorite.
  10. Pepsi or Coke: Coke because I just grew up with Coke.
  11. Summer or winter: Summer! But I’m starting to appreciate the winter weather.
  12. Scary movies or funny movies: I like getting scared but I love to laugh. So funny movies, please.
  13. First thought of waking up: I don’t want to get up!
  14. Fears: Germs and more germs.
  15. What country do you want to visit? I would say Africa but that whole Kony deal is confusing me!
  16. Favorite ice cream: Vanirra. I rike to keep it simple. After that, then maybe Cookies N’ Cream!
  17. Something you do when you’re bored: Look up dance YouTube videos…
  18. Dog or cat: Ruff ruff.
  19. Short or long hair: I have short hair. I donated 11 inches to Locks of Love in December!
  20. TV shows: As for now, I’ve been watching the news a lot and The Voice pretty consistently. The shows I like to watch but don’t watch much include: Modern Family, Glee, The Office, Undercover Boss, Say Yes To The Dress, and many more…

I hope this survey was fun to read! Thanks for reading my first of many posts!
